If you like that old time singing with four men and a piano, then you will love this recording. This CD was even recorded in the old fashioned way, with four men around two vintage RCA 77 microphones and a Steinway Grand Piano.
The song list is full of old time Southern Gospel favorites including such classics as “He Touched Me”, and “What A Savior.” There are song songs that will have your foot tapping. “Rolling Along”, “Sittin’ Round The Table Of The Lord”, and “Keep Walking” are sure to lift your spirit.
Randy Shelnut does an incredible performance on “How Great Thou Art”. He shows that he has quite and impressive range. They have even included the old “spiritual” “I’m Working On A Building”, that shows off the big Bass voice of Billy Todd. Scoot Shelnut tears it up on that get up and go song “Old Fashioned Meeting”, though his Dad shows that he still has it as they shift gears in the middle of the song.
No old time project would be complete without a nice piano solo included. Stewart Varnado does a classic job performing one of my favorite oldies as he plays “When They Ring Those Golden Bells”.
