The Carolina Boys have released their first “label” recording. I must say that through all the hubbub of the name change and other “problems” that they have had, it seems to have given them a new lease on life. This new CD is full of new energy that they didn’t seem to have in the last few recordings as that “other” group. There just seems to be an excitement in their voices that was missing before.

The first song on the CD is also the first radio release from the album and it will light your fire. “God Sits On High” was penned by Rebecca Peck, and she did a super job on this one. Grab your running shoes when you listen to this one.

“Good News” is the title song of the CD. It’s medium tempo sets the mood for the message of exciting news that this song proclaims. This would be a nice radio release.

Running a close tie for my favorite song on the CD along with “God Sits On High” is a nice ballad, “Justified”. While is uses a play on words for the chorus this a very memorable song and one that you will be singing along with.

As soon as I saw this CD on the shelf, I bought it and was delighted. I heard the Carolina Boys shortly after their decision on the name at a New Years' Concert in Charleston. Having never seen the Kingsmen live, I was amazed at this group. I love everything about this project, from the soul-stiiring words to the toe-tapping music and even to the neat newspaper-like insert cover. I can't wait for the next album.
