Anchormen - Nothing Less Than All

Somehow the Anchormen just keep putting out great CDs. This one is no exception. Starting with the Blackwood hit “Everyday Will Be Sunday By And By,” they hit the road running and don’t stop until the recording is over. There is a nice little surprise on the ending as the Bass singer, David Hester, goes way down two octaves. Whew, that’s worth the price of the CD by itself.

Steve Ladd performs a beautiful rendition of a strong ballad in “My Name I Am”.  This is one of those songs that you can sit back and worship with. These guys do a great job on the fun song “The Fourth Man”. They get up on their horses and run all the way through this cut.  “I’ve Made It Home”, penned by Rebecca Peck is solid quartet song and the Anchormen shine on this style. “Sail Away Some Day” written by youngster Dustin Sweatman is one of those catchy tunes that you will find yourself singing along to. Baritone Chad Smith shines on the powerful song “The Cross Was Built To Last”. All a person needs to do is listen to this song and they can hear the plan of salvation.

If you have never heard their young piano player, Brian Elliott, he will thrill you as he burns up the keys on “Feelin’ Mighty Fine”. How does he get his fingers to move that fast?

Other songs include the Laverne Tripp song “I’ll Be There”, a redo of the old song “I’ve Tasted Living Water”, “Inside Of Me”, and “Calvary Calls”.

I believe the Anchormen are one of the best quartets on the road today. Nothing Less Than All is a 1st Class recording. :thumbsup:

I first heard the Anchormen live this past summer at the Brumley Sing in Arkansas, and I must say they are the group that really got me started liking quartets. They are so talented, and Bryan Elliott never ceases to amaze me with his talents- he has such a bright future ahead of him. This album is one of my favorites. Great Job! :thumbsup:

Phillip, I agree with you 100%... This quartet turns our crank everytime we get to see them. They have such a great spirit and attitude too.

this has to be one of the best albums that The Anchormen have ever done! ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! from every earth shaking low note that David Hester hits, to every glass breaker that Steve Ladd hits; this album is a good one.

Steve...i love ya man! and i'm proud to call you my friend. i hope you, Dana, and the kids are well; and i look forward to seeing you soon!

Just wondering...why was the correct cover art not used in the graphic? It appears as though one of the inside panels was scanned and used as the cover. Maybe no one else cares...but I bet the designer does wink hehe

I too like this album. The note that David hits on the end of Everyday Will Be Sunday...just try to even think that low, let alone stay with him!! More important, I think Steve has assembled a group that LIVES what they sing. They are also one of the easiest groups to work with. Truely good people.
