Don’t Listen To The Words, Just Listen To The Way I Sing It
![]() How many times have you heard a singer in church get up and say, "Don't listen to the way I sing it, just listen to the words". Well, we were shooting a live video a while back and we were doing a brand new song and I really messed up the words to the second verse. I turned to the guys and said, "don't listen to the words, just listen to the way I sing it". Well, if you think that is funny, then you will know why we do our sound checks at the venue 3 hours before the concert starts when no one is around. Reader Comments
I came to this web page and looked for the name of this group but it isn't listed(Just name "Gus" and a picture).

Great article David. I am with you on this. There is nothing that turns me away from someone who sings a good or bad song than when they say that phrase before they sing. God gives talent and confidence and we should always know that God will bless what we do. Scripturally based lyrics are a problem in many areas of Christian music. If it doesn't line up with the Bible then there is a big problem, no matter how it is presented.
God Bless you all!!!!

Thats why I don't put anything on the air untill I hear it all, and if its not in the Bible its not in our play list.
