Posted By: staalan - How widespread is SGM?
Hello
I'm from Norway, and love Southern Gospel Music.
I wonder how widespread is SGM. In the USA, in Canada, in Europe, in the rest of the world.
Here in Norway the Gaither videos are becoming popular and known to a lot of people. But if you ask about SGM most people don't know much about it.
Can you tell how it is with SGM in your district, state or country?

Posted By: NCsgSinger - Virtual Ads
I have only promoted 2 concerts and both times I sold Ad booklets/program to COMPLETLY pay for the concert. There was very little program and A LOT of ads! A lot of work and the programs can get costly as far as printing. The other night the thought came to me of doing virtual ads using powerpoint and get rid of paper programs. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it work? Do you think it will work? Of course this is selling Ad's to businesses and different organizations. So, How do you think businesses would respond to the idea? I'm considering trying this for a New Years Eve Concert. Any insight anyone might have would be helpful.

I just received my 2 dvd pack and have watched the first one. If you're a die-hard SGM fan - just buy the cds! It's at T.D. Jakes' church and features many, many black artists. My but those folks at that church know how to worship! As I've heard Babbie Mason say, "at our church, worship is a verb"!!! If the 2d one is as good as the first - WOW!!

| Deon's Radio Picks - 1/21/04 The Whisnants – “Even In The Valley” Here’s a powerful ballad that is sure to reach any of your listeners who are struggling and going through their own valley. In the fashion that Susan Whisnant is becoming known for the expression and feeling that she sings with is moving. Harmonies are very good, and the track is full orchestration that fits this song to tee. This song could well be another # 1 hit for the Whisnants. United Independent Artists (UIA) – Volume # 3011 – cut # 1 The Lesters – “Walking In Victory” This upbeat number will fit into either drive time uplifting your audience spirit whether going to work for the day, or coming home after a stressful day. The under-appreciated sound of the Lesters is so apparent on this cut. This group can sing, and sing well. Your listeners will get a real blessing after you have played this song, and I’m sure they will be calling wanting to hear more of it. Zion Music Group – Compilation # 33 – cut # 1 Palmetto Quartet – “Knock, Knock, Knock” When you are ready for some great quartet singing, pull this tune out. It’s a big sound that is enhanced by some really nice horns. This toe tapping tune will be a great stress reliever in the afternoon drive time. This cut should see some chart action. Crossroads Airplay Sampler – January – 2004 – cut # 1 LordSong – “I’m Gonna Sing” If it’s harmony that you are wanting, then this is the song you want to play. The track moves right along and the message is very uplifting. You will probably find yourself singing this song after you have gone off the air. This cut should do well on the charts, and your listeners will really enjoy it. Daywind Radio Disc – Volume # 52 – cut # 2 |
