The Anchormen have been a mainstay in Southern Gospel Music for 28 years. They have had a number of faces come through the group over the years but they have always remained a quality quartet

“I’ll Meet You on the Mountain” kicks off the project with a lot of excitement. This song was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither along with Milton Smith and producer, Wesley Pritchard. “Harmony with Him” is a nice ensemble song from the pen of Patty Hawkins and keeps the tempo up.

“Never Weak on My Knees” features the smooth bass voice of Jon Hall. The first ballad of the project is “For the Life of Me”. Keith Casstevens, lead singer for the Anchormen, does a nice job on this song.

Marty Funderburk has written a more progressive Southern Gospel song, “Take’Em to the Lord”. This would make a good song for radio. Bill and Gloria Gaither have written another great song, “Come See Me”. This, mid tempo, country, ballad features baritone singer, Robbie Norwood.

“Walkin’ In the Favor of God”, written by Greg Day and Philip Robinson, features the vocals of lead singer, Keith Casstevens and tenor Karl Rice. This would be another good choice for a single release. “Walk by Faith” is another strong ballad and features Keith.

“Walk and Talk with Jesus” is a traditional quartet style tune that features bass singer, Jon Hall. The song has some nice harmonies and gets the foot tapping’. Savanna Foust has contributed a great up tempo song, “Come on Out of the Wilderness”. This keeps the tempo up and has a lot of drive.

The latest single release from the guys is a song penned by Glen Bates and Marty Funderburk, “Reach Out to Jesus”. The vocals are strong on this power ballad and the arrangement is good. I think this song will do well for them. The final cut on the album is “The News is Out” and features Robbie Norwood.

This was a good project but a little shaky in places. There were some pitchy places as well. I think that this current version of the Anchormen will continue to get stronger as they work together. It would be worth your while to check the project out.

This project was released a while back by the group now known as Driven. Haven't heard this version yet, but the previous one was superb!
