If you are looking for that last minute Christmas present, or if you are just looking for a good book to read, let me recommend two really good books. ”It’s More Than The Music”, by Bill Gaither, with Ken Abraham, and ”We Want America Back”, by Jeff Steele are both thought provoking books.
In ”It’s More Than The Music”; Bill Gaither shares some very personal insights into the makings of some of his best known songs. He gives the life experiences that brought about such great songs as “The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference”, “He Touched Me”, and “Loving God, Loving Each Other”. He goes into depth about the loss of his big brother Danny, and how the trials of his death changed their lives. He also shares some history of his life growing up and his marriage to Gloria and the births of their children.
This could be two books in one, because Bill also goes into some very practical advice for groups and artists striving to get into the Southern Gospel industry. This is a great present for any Gospel music lover, including those Grandparents that are so hard to buy for, but love those Gaither videos.
Jeff Steele reaches to the heart of our great nation with ”We Want America Back.” This is a great book calling Dads to take their place back in the family as the priest they should be. It calls Moms and Dads to action in raising their children in Godly ways. It calls attention to the fact that if we want America back we have a political battle to fight, and we do not do that staying away from the polls.
Jeff gives a view of what he went through after releasing his hit song “We Want America Back”. The story of what happened when the New York Times wrote a scathing article condemning his song. Jeff gives his opinion of a frequently asked question, “Has America gone too far?” “We Want America Back” gives a battle plan for us Christians to use in winning our nation back. This book would make a great Christmas present for you, Dad, or Mom, even for your Pastor or your Sunday School Teacher. It’s a book that every teenager should read. I highly recommend this book as well.
