Talented songwriter, Tim Thomas, has put together a worshipful experience with their new project, Blessed. Tim along with his wife Deanna and sister Rebekah have some smooth harmonies and sing Tim’s music very well.

“Something’s Gotta Give” is a worshipful ballad. This song was inspired by the news going on in the world around us. Some tight ensemble work is heard on “To His Hand I Will Hold”. “Can I Help You Today” features Tim on lead vocals and melodically, it reminds me of something that you might have heard on the Hit Parade of the late ‘40s and early ‘50s.

“B-L-E-S-S-E-D” is written in the same style as such pop hits as “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E”. This is a fun song. “I’ll Never Let You Go” features one of the girls. This is a very pretty ballad about memories of one who has gone on. “Get Ready” has a bluesy feel. “I Shall Stand” features the other female vocalist. This is a very melodic ballad.

“Make Me All Over Again”, originally written as an invitation chorus, is another powerful ballad. Tim added the verses later to complete the song. “Bye Bye” has a hot track with a rhythm and blues feel to it. They have chosen an interesting song to close the album with. “Angel’s Song” is a wonderful praise and worship song. According to the liner notes, this song was inspired by an angelic visit while Tim was lying in bed. He kept hearing the words, “Praise the name of Jesus”.

The Tim Thomas Trio has a laid back sound that is very relaxing to listen to but not in any way boring. Kevin McManus has produced another great project with strong rhythm tracks and orchestration. I also liked the artwork and packaging of this project.
