The Mark Trammell Trio seems to have hit their musical stride with their last few recordings. Much like This Time broke new ground for the group, this new recording has a similar feel to it. It keeps up the momentum that This Time started, though musically, nothing new was established in this release.

The brass infested tune, "EVEN THOMAS COULDN'T DOUBT IT" gets things underway and quickly moves to the Irish twist of the Chris Allman penned, "WON'T IT BE WONDERFUL THERE", which features an excellent performance by Eric Phillips. Kyla Rowland penned the medium tempo, "MOVING THE HAND OF GOD" and reminds us, ".when we pray.we are moving the hand of God."

Complete with a choir, the group sings the Easter themed power ballad, "ONCE UPON A CROSS", and features one of Mark Trammell's best performances. This song should do extremely well for the group.

Newest member, Dustin Sweatman sings, "HOWEVER I GO", which has the typical medium tempo Southern Gospel meter, before the pace picks back up for another Allman penned song, "I STILL BELIEVE". With a steel guitar and a bit of Goodman flare, Mark sings the Dianne Wilkinson penned, "LET ME BRING YOUR CHILDREN HOME".

Recorded several years by Greater Vision (when Mark was with the group) the recording closes the recording with the Steve Hurst penned, "HEAVEN CAN'T BE FAR AWAY". While the group did a good job, it just didn't have the same punch as Greater Vision's version from over a dozen years ago, and leaves you somewhat wanting for something more.

All in all, this was an excellent effort and a great recording. The cover work was well done and while I always appreciate songwriter credits and was glad to see those included, I was somewhat disappointed that the credits for the musicians were left off the liner notes. Since the addition of Dustin Sweatman the group has never sounded stronger, and I expect that as they gel more cohesively as a group, that sound will only get stronger.

Song List:
1 - Even Thomas Couldn't Doubt It
2 - Won't it Be Wonderful There
3 - Moving the Hand of God
4 - Once Upon a Cross
5 - However I Go
6 - I Still Believe
7 - Let me Bring Your Children Home
8 - Weary at the Well
9 - You Can't Hold Back the Flood
10 - Heaven Can't Be Far Away

I think it's one of the best Southern Gospel projects released this decade.
