Hello. I hope this article finds everyone doing well. Things have been so crazy these past several weeks. There is so much to be in prayer over. On the personal side, we have had a lot of sickness in our family. My mother, my sister, and my grandmother have all been in the hospital. My wife had a wreck and totaled our car. The Lord surely watched over her because everyone was ok! Myself? I am just getting over the crud! My allergies always seem to go crazy this time of year. But I am not going to complain because I love this time of year. I love the cold weather, the time change, and everything that goes with it! I love getting out my winter coat and sweaters! Of course, now that the season is changing, we can buy some new clothes right? haha Stay warm!
Over the last several months, I have been in prayer over my artists more than I have ever been. I honestly feel like the artists we have are like family.. I am so thankful for each one of them. I was looking at the list of songs we are working with this month and it made me proud of my artists. It seems like our artists are so focused on what they are doing with their ministry. The songs are powerful and the messages are so true. One song talks about our faith. Sometimes in life our faith gets a little shaky! Just like the disciples when they were in the boat. Jesus was sleeping and they woke Him up because they were so afraid. Of course we know how Jesus answered them. Sometimes it is like the Lord just looks at US and says, WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?
We just need to remember that even when we are afraid we can look to Him. There's really no need to worry because He is always near. You might be going through something that only you and Him knows about. It may even seem like an impossible situation. You may think "there's no way this situation is going to work out." Have you ever been at a crossroads in your life and you're not sure what to do' You feel trapped and unless a miracle takes place you're not going to make it? Remember STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED. Just think back to the times he has come through in your life! He worked miracles back then and He is still working them today!
Then there are times when we try to fix things ourselves. We think we can do it on our own. Sometimes we really feel like we have succeeded but later on we end up falling flat on our face. We did not let go and let God. We did not give Him the problem. He allows us to go our own way just to show us that we need Him. I don't know about you but those times we fall on our face is when I realize that I COULDN'T MAKE IT WITHOUT HIM.
There have been many times in my own life when I knew I needed him and He was the only one who could help. He was the only one who could give that grace.. It was Him who has been faithful and true. Even when I was going through the hardest trial I had ever faced His word stood true. He was there just as He promised. When my dad passed away I experienced that grace. It was not instant. It didn't come right at that moment of his passing. But when it did come, I experienced that sweet grace. There the Lord reminded me of our hope. He reminded me that dad was ONLY GONE FROM OUR SIGHT. Because of that hope we will soon be reunited again.
It was bedtime for my 2-year-old son, Zachary, last night and we walked back to the bedroom. He was holding my hand till we got beside of his bed. As soon as he let go of my hand he knelt down on his knees and bowed his head. I didn't even have to tell him, "Son, let's say our prayers." He already knew what to do. Now, am I bragging? YES! But I am certainly not bragging on myself or even my wife for teaching him that, I am bragging on the Lord. He is so good! It is such a blessing to watch Zachary kneel down at his bedside or even bow his head before we eat. The Lord gives us so many blessings daily! To see that I have a healthy little boy is a blessing! Yes, we have many trials in our life and we have our daily struggles, but we can say that we're STILL BLESSED.
Last Sunday we had such an incredible service. The Lord came down and dwelt among us in such a special way. It was a sweet anointing that flowed through each individual who testified! Our Pastor, JW Depew, did not even get to preach. The altars were flooded. Many went to talk to our Heavenly Father about what was going on in their life. Some went to pray for other family members and their friends, and some went just to thank Him. Thanking Him for his goodness and His grace. Sometimes God is just so big. You can't testify, you can't do anything but cry. You can't do anything except raise your hands and praise him. Praise Him for what He did at Calvary. You know, it all goes back to Calvary. Calvary is the reason we have hope. CALVARY'S THE REASON WHY.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We often hear people talk about being thankful for their family and friends, their jobs, their church, their pastor, their home, and their meals. We should always thank Him for those things. However, I want to close this month with a special thought. The new single by The Whisnants says "You took my guilt and shame. And all my sinful blame became as yours. You opened wide your hands as a guilty man, you wore my crown of thorns. You took the death I earned. And all that I deserved on Calvary. Lord thanks for what you've given. But most of all, thanks for WHAT YOU TOOK FROM ME"
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
