What is a typical morning for the Lesters like on the day you are leaving?
CHAOTIC!! There are always the last-minute details. Brian makes sure the bus is loaded and directions to all the weekend dates are in hand. Ginger cleans the interior of the bus and loads her things. Jenny makes sure all of her family's things are loaded and the two little ones are on board. And Jon brings his X-BOX (and much more)!
What's the worst thing you've forgotten and didn't realize it until you were 100 miles down the road?
After a date in Texas we drove well over 100 miles when we realized we left all of our microphones at the previous date. The pastor was gracious enough to drive our mics to us so we could finish out the date. On a more serious note, Ginger says once she forgot her make-up bag at home once! Thank God there are two girls on the bus!
What is a travel day on the bus life for the Girls? How does that differ from the guys?
Travel days are as follows: For the girls, once the Emma (3 yrs. old) and Ava (5 months old) are down for their naps, Ginger and Jenny read and eventually fall fast asleep! Brian drives and talks on the phone. Jonathan plays video games and text messages everybody he knows, and Seth (Jenny's husband) either drives the bus, or challenges Jon to NFL Hockey match on X-BOX. All in all, it's pretty relaxing!
Are there any favorite topics of discussion on the bus?
When we aren't talking about what Emma wants to talk about, we normally discuss our week at home, what needs to be accomplished, of course, the CARDINALS, and we enjoy telling the occasional family story (especially on Brian!!).
When the big bus pulls into a truck stop for fuel, who is the first one off and who is the last one back on?
ANS. The first one off is whoever is the most hungry! Brian is always the last one back on cause he pays for the fuel!
