I've been doing a study on Joshua and have surprisingly found it to be a great lesson of God's faithfulness! Joshua was chosen to be God's leader after the passing of Moses. CHOSEN is the key word here. It's amazing how the strength and the grace of God will overtake you when you have not APPLIED for the position, but have been CHOSEN for the task that He has given you! When you never thought you'd find yourself with the responsibility that has seemingly been laid at your feet, God reminds you that He is with you. Joshua was a faithful man of integrity. He never asked to be in control. He never said, "Hey! I think I'm the man for the job!" He was CHOSEN to be God's leader because he was sensitive to the voice and presence of God. I talk about this specific verse a lot in our concerts. In Joshua 1: 5,9 God is encouraging Joshua. The Lord says in verse 5, "As I was with Moses, so shall I be with you: I will not fail you or forsake you". God continues with a reminder of His great promise in verse 9. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid or dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee wherever you go." When times are hard in your life, remember God's Word to Joshua. The same God that was with Moses and Joshua, David and Daniel, Peter and Paul, will be with you. You have been chosen and God will not fail you!
God Bless,
Annie
