Things seem to just be getting better and better for the Booth Brothers. After spending the last year traveling the Gaither circuit, which means singing in front of hundreds of thousands of people, the group recently signed a recording contract with one of the top record labels in the industry, Spring Hill Music Group, home to such artists as Karen Peck & New River, The Hoppers, The Martins, Janet Paschal, and more.
Stepping back in time, the Booth Brothers started out using music as an escape from their father?s former addiction to alcohol. The addiction in their family made from the need to escape into other realities, which for the brothers Booth meant anything musical.
"I loved my dad and we knew he loved us, but I didn't want to be around him," remembers Ronnie Booth. "There was so much conflict all of the time. You just wanted to stay away."
Ronnie started singing in choirs at school and church and began to gain influences from multiple genres, including pop, rock, gospel and many more. Michael Booth began playing drums, including becoming a very talented jazz drummer during his college years.
With their pastor by their side, the Booth boys confronted their father, and he immediately received help from a Christian run organization in Virginia. In 1990, The Booth Brothers, the southern gospel trio, was born. Michael and Ronnie began traveling with their transformed father, Ron. After Ron retired from the group, the brothers went through many talented singers until they settled in with their current baritone, Jim Brady.
Now, in this next chapter of their career, the Booth Brothers are riding a wave to the top. Their latest Spring Hill offering can do nothing more than catapult them to the upper echelons of the industry. The future is bright for the Booth Brothers.
Their latest CD, due in stores this month, sees the group stretching themselves musically, while at the same time settling down into a sound all their own. In fact, adding newest member Jim Brady to the line up enhanced the group even more as Jim did a good portion of songwriting for the new record. Infusing unforgettable harmonies and catchy southern hooks, the new self titled CD is a hybrid of the traditional and progressive
