ENDICOTT, NY – Nominations for the Fifth Annual American Christian Music Awards were announced this week. The nominees were announced during a live presentation on WJRG/Union-Endicott, NY. Hosted by the Reverend David R. Grate, the one-hour presentation introduced listeners to the nominees and their music in the sixty-five categories. The Fifth Annual American Christian Music Awards ceremony will be held Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Union-Endicott Performing Arts Theater in Greater Binghamton, New York.
In the "Country/Southern Gospel" category.. the nominees are:
FAVORITE MALE ARTIST: Ivan Parker, Mark Bishop, and Randy Travis.
FAVORITE FEMALE ARTIST: Lauren Talley, Sheri Easter and Sondra Burnett.
FAVORITE BAND, DUO or GROUP: Crabb Family, CrossWay and Gold City.
OUTSTANDING SOUTHERN GOSPEL TRACKS & SINGLES: "If It Had Not Been the Lord" - McRaes, "It Looks Like Love to Me" - CrossWay, and "It's Just Another Red Sea" - Gold City
OUTSTANDING SOUTHERN GOSPEL ALBUM: Driven - Crabb Family, Faces - Greater Vision, This I Know - CrossWay
OUTSTANDING COUNTRY TRACKS & SINGLES: "Can't Go That Far" - Del Way, "God Save the World" - Jeff Carlson, "Never Walk Alone" - Heritage Road
OUTSTANDING COUNTRY ALBUM: Passing Through - Randy Travis, The Gospel Truth - Robert Martin, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus - John Conlee
Other notable nominations included Hope's Call recieveing a nomination in the category of Breakout Group of the Year. LordSong recieved a nomination in the category of Outstanding Inspirational Album for last year's Soul Food. Joyce Martin (of The Martins) also appeared in that category for her solo album Diamonds On a Dusty Road. Martin also recieved a nomination for Favorite Inspirational/Praise Female Artist.
Ballots for the Fifth Annual American Christian Music Awards are available on line at http://www.americanchristianmusic.com Paper-ballots will be available for download and order. Paper ballots will also be available through Churches and Christian bookstores nationwide.
