Groups Gather Downtown Nashville for Southern Gospel Music Guild’s Late Night Event
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Spring Hill Recording Artists The Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River and CrossWay performed last week during Gospel Music Week in Nashville, Tenn., at the Late Night Showcase, held by the Southern Gospel Music Guild. The event took place inside the Hilton Hotel in downtown Nashville and was attended by retailers, industry insiders, record label executives, Guild members and others. The event honors the southern Gospel genre and its artists and allows attendees to enjoy some of the year’s top artists performing at one venue.
The Hoppers performed their number one hit “Jerusalem,” featured on their DOVE-nominated Great Day recording. The group, seen often on the Gaither Homecoming stage nationwide, recently performed this song in the city of Jerusalem on a trip alongside Bill Gaither and his “Homecoming friends.” Video highlights from that trip were shown during their performance of the song. The group’s current single “Look for Me Around the Throne” is currently nearing the top of the radio charts.
Karen Peck & New River featured songs from their new release Good to Be Free, including their new single “Just One Touch,” which recently debuted on the national radio charts. Karen Peck & New River are featured regularly at both Gospel Music Week and the Gospel Music Association’s Seminar in the Rockies. Karen was recently honored as Female Vocalist of the Year at the first annual Harmony Awards, organized by the Southern Gospel Music Guild.
CrossWay performed their signature hit and DOVE-nominated single “It Looks Like Love to Me,” found on their This I Know recording, also nominated for a DOVE Award this year. The group also performed their follow-up single, “Long Arm of Love,” the number one Pick Hit and number one New Release according to djs nationwide. CrossWay was backed by The Crabb Family Band, creating a dynamic performance that left attendees talking about the upcoming Crabb Jam events. CrossWay recently performed alongside The McRaes and The Crabb Family at a sold out debut Crabb Jam concert in Dickson, Tenn.
