Your Group had a big year in 2004 both professionally and personally. Fill everyone in on what has happened with the group!
Since the beginning of our career, we have traveled out of state of Florida . The last few years we wanted to base the organization out of Nashville which is much more centrally located for our travels. We are doing more dates in the north and out west than we've done before and it was requiring much more time on the road from Florida . The summer of 2004 Michael and Jim moved to the Nashville area. I have remained in Florida where our office is until we can move it to Nashville also. Our mother joined the staff last year as our administrative assistant which is a real blessing but we have to be on our toes and behave now. Also, last year was especially exciting because we had the opportunity to travel to Jerusalem in August with the Gaithers. For those of you who have followed the Booth Brothers for the last several years you will recall a song we sang of Mosie Listers entitled Beyond the Cross. The biggest thrill for us was we had the opportunity to sing that a cappella in the tomb of our Lord. I'd have to say that was most definitely the highlight of the year.
What's next up to bat for your group? In other words, what do you see in the immediate future for your ministry?
We are very excited that in the fall of this year we will be with Gaither in the state of California for the first time and other states out west. It's always interesting and exciting to travel into a new market where people are just being intruded to your music. We know we have a following out there because we have received many e-mails and orders for our product off our website from there.
Tell us about your new album. Word on the street is it's going to be your best yet. Can you give us the scoop?
You will be hearing the new single shortly on the radio. The song is called “He Saw It All”. I think it's going to be a pleasant surprise for gospel music lovers. It is actually recorded in six eight time which will be a first for our group. I think it's going to be very radio friendly and a lot of folks are going to be shouting' Halleluiah in the cars, but we're not gonna be responsible for any speeding tickets. We are continuing as I speak working on the entire album. Most of the tracks have been cut and the record will picture what the Booth Brothers are best at - harmony, harmony, harmony.
What are the long term plans for your group. What's the future hold for your group?
Well, I'm not happy if I'm not growing. If the organization is not growing or if I'm not growing in my personal life, then I'm not satisfied. So growing in my walk with the Lord, also growing in knowledge of how to be a better business man, and in every aspect of my life I want to continue growing. The group is nothing more than stewards of what we've been given. We will continue pursuing new markets and building strong relationships in these new markets.
Tell us about your worst and best concert experiences lately. Something the fan will love to know about you!
Michael and I made hind ends out of ourselves during a Gaither show one time. While Jessie Dixon was singing Get Away Jordan, Michael and I thought that we and about ten other artists were suppose to go on stage with him and back him up. We realized that we were the only two artists that felt it was necessary to back him on stage, so there we stood. I would say that was the worst. The best would be at a church in Eustis , Florida where our friend, Andy Bryant, joined us on stage. He gave the testimony of his son who was tragically killed in a car accident a few years ago. If I remember correctly, eleven people trusted Christ that night. Results of that significance is why we do what we do every concert.
My favorite movies are Rocky Three and Rocky Four as well as all three of the Rambo films and Brave Heart featuring Mel Gibson. But my favorite of all is The Passion of Christ.
