Johnny Minick Touching Iraq From Home
Recent Sermon to Be Translated for Iraqi People

SMYRNA, Tenn. – A recent sermon by singer/songwriter/pastor Johnny Minick is touching lives across the globe in war-torn Iraq. The sermon, titled “The Future of America”, has been ministering to soldiers through the River of Life Assembly of God military outreach, Good Soldiers of Jesus Christ (GSOJC).

Second Class Petty Officer Ben Carabajal of the United States Navy is head of GSOJC. GSOJC supplies spiritual care packages to troops in Iraq. Most of the times, these packages include bibles and recordings. The most recent packages included a CD of the sermon by Johnny Minick.

“Apparently, one of the soldiers who had started a growing church service for the other soldiers had played and distributed the sermon to the other troops,” remarked Johnny Minick. “This ongoing church service has grown from 25 people to over 150 people in less than a month.”

Attendees of the services include U.S. troops and many converted Iraqi citizens.

The sermon by Minick is currently being translated and will be broadcast to the Iraqi people within a few weeks.

“It’s an honor that God would work through me to touch lives all the way across the globe,” said Johnny. “I hope and pray that others will see the redeeming power and overwhelming love that God has for His people through this sermon.”

Good Soldiers of Jesus Christ is currently having a website developed.

Johnny recently released his first solo album, Sweetest Song I Know: A Tribute to the Happy Goodmans. In addition to the new album, Johnny has continued to book a growing list of concert dates for 2005. Johnny is preparing to tour in 2005 with a limited concert schedule promoting his Tribute project.
