Family members are reporting that George Younce was admitted to the hospital Tuesday for a blood clot. The clot is behind his right knee and he appears to be responding well to the blood thinners he is receiving. Doctors are optimistic and hoping for a release by Friday afternoon. Reader Comments
George and Family,
We lost my wife's daddy back in 1993. He had been pastoring a little rural baptist church in Wewoka, OK for 25 years. Much like George, he had given God his all. One thing I appreciated about Clifford Pelton was his integrity and genuineness. I also remember his laugh so loud and so strong. I have been following your daddy Georges career for the past 25 years up through the loss of Glenn Payne. I know George felt like he had lost a part of himself when Glenn when to be with the LORD. What I have enjoyed so much about your daddy just like with my father-in-law is George's laugh so strong and so loud and his integrity. There are not many more left like George and Cliff but my life will forever be changed by their lasting influence. Get well, George! God ain't done with ya yet, Brother! Praise God for Godly role models. Respectfully, Dan Martin http://members.cox.net/concorddeaf

George,
I have long admired you and found your music very uplifting! I must have a thing for bass singers. I knew and loved J. D. Sumner very much. He was Big Daddy to a lot of fans! I can't tell you in the right words how your voice gets the goosebumps going and the chills in my heart. Just know I am praying for you and wish you the happiest birthday ever! TWO great Georges born on this day!!! Love in God, Benae

I'm praying for a speedy recovery and trust you had a great birthday today. I've enjoyed your singing, going back many years, having heard and seeing you live in Knoxville, TN with J. Bazzel & Ms Mull. My wife and I have been blessed seeing you and the Catherdrals on the Gaither tapes.

Hello, Mr. Younce,
I surely do miss the Catherdal Quartet. It was one of the most loved groups of all times. Hope you are feeling better. May Gods speed be with you and Mrs. Younce. Happy Birthday. In Gods Love, Laverne Paul

George, you cannot know what you have meant to the Sanders family...As pastor of a church, I find my greatest blessing that keeps me going is watching your videos and listening to your tapes. Everyone who comes by our house gets a large dose of your singing...and they love it. Please hang around and go up with us all in the rapture...we can't imagine a life without you in it. May God richly bless you and your family...Much Love, Walter and Kathy Sanders

I have never seen you in person, but have enjoyed your vidios and watching you on the HomeComing tape. Your beautiful voice is one in a million. I agree with Ernie that you are my favorite bass singer.
Good luck and may God Bless. Odell Harrison
