Crabb Family To Perform For Ebenezer Childrens Home
Usually in December, you think about a time for children and Santa Claus coming to town. But this December, think about children and remember that The Crabb Family is coming to town. On December 4th, 2004, a Southern Gospel concert will be held at Cornerstone Church in North Wilkesboro, NC to benefit the construction of the Hope Home of Ebenezer Christian Childrens Home and featuring The Crabb Family from Kentucky.
The new Hope Home will be the fourth home on the Ebenezer property in North Wilkesboro and will be home for nine additional children. God has done wonderful things for Ebenezer Christian Children Homes since 1994 when it began as just a vision. A group of individuals from Wilkes County saw hurting children who had been removed from their natural homes for various reasons. Why not join forces and build a home when home is not an option? It began just like that. It was amazing how God put the right people in touch with each other. Money was raised to purchase the existing home on Byrd Ridge Road and the 200+ acres which would allow growth as God leads. Many people have caught sight of the vision, and the dream has continued to spread through the gracious support of people who share the desire to do a great work in the lives of children.
The mission of Ebenezer Christian Children's Home is to serve children ages 3-21 years old in Wilkes and surrounding counties by providing a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment that will foster independence and ensure success among its residents. Their goal is to hire experienced, qualified staff who will be well suited to work with residents who have fallen victim to abuse and neglect. While maintaining a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, children are given love and attention. Ebenezer offers its residents the opportunity to participate in extra curricular activities, church and leisure events, and daily life skills training. Most children are long-term residents.
For a twenty-dollar donation to the new Hope Home at Ebenezer, you can reserve a seat to see one of the hottest groups in Southern Gospel today--The Crabb Family.
From a church in rural Kentucky to an annual concert audience of 800,000, the Crabb Family has managed to break through musical genre barriers to reach people in all age groups and from all walks of life with the message of the gospel. When Gerald and Kathy Crabb felt the call of God into a full-time musical ministry nearly 10 years ago, they had no way of knowing just what was in store for their children.
Two years ago, Gerald and Kathy passed the torch to the second generation with confidence that they were prepared for the success ahead. Despite the rapid success and doors that continually open, the Crabb Family remains devoted to the calling and purpose on which their ministry was founded. Siblings Jason, Kelly, and twins, Adam and Aaron, share a common desire to reach the lost. They are not hindered by opinion or manmade limitations, but they willingly accept any challenge that comes their way. God has honored their obedience and willingness with open doors beyond expectation.
From small town events to the Grand Ole Opry, The Crabb Family has played and sung gospel music to the tune of 4 Dove Awards, a Grammy Nomination, 15 Number One Songs, and an annual concert attendance reaching over 800,000. They were also named in the 25 Most Important Artists Shaping Christian Music Today by CCM Magazine.
December 4, 2004, in Wilkeboro, NC, is an opportunity to enjoy some of the finest music this side of Heaven and to benefit a home for children in need on the grounds of Ebenezer. There are only 500 seats available. Its all about HOPE this Christmas--the new Hope Home.
