WASHINGTON, DC(Press Release) - XM Satellite Radio, as part of its new XM Radio OnLine Internet streaming service, is launching a Southern Gospel channel. Southern Gospel is one of the most requested genres of musical programming that XM Radio does not presently provide. Reader Comments
What is the big deal with XM offering SG online? The LIVE365 network has been doing it for years.. In addition to getting our station (sglive365.com RADIO).. you will get about 20 other southern gospel options.. plus hundreds of other formats and radio ideas. Plus.. it's free. Or you can choose commercial free programming.. with monthly fees from $3.65 to $5.95 depending on your payment plan. More info here: http://www.live365.com/listen/preferred-member.live
I have not heard the XM SG programming.. I hope they give us a real SG format..and not what someone thinks SG should be. Chuck http://www.sglive365.com

Another online Southern Gospel station is not a big deal. The potential for a Southern Gospel station being available on XM's satelite service, however, would be a big deal . . . so this could be a big deal.
Why? This is the only online channel that's being considered for satelite distribution in the future. XM Radio is currently offering a three day trial period to try this service, but I would advise SG fans to wait until it's reported that this channel has actually been launched before signing up. If you sign up right now, your three days could expire before the channel is launched. Like you, Chuck, I'm anxious to hear whether the programming quality is good enough for a national audience. They are seeking material to play from record companies at the moment, so I hope they will be discriminating in what they choose. They've asked record labels to send older hits, so it appears they plan to play a mix of standards and new releases.

We need a regular 24-hour station on XM
Satallite Radio that plays Southern Gospel Music. There are a lot of christian truckers that would love to have something GOOD to listen to and a lot of other people that have trouble sleeping that need it too. Thank You. Carol

I called listener care to request that XM add the southern gospel channel to their satelite reciever so I can listen to this channel in my car. I was told by the person I spoke to that the owners of the channel requested that they only put this channel online only. I requested that XM try and talk to the owners so they could make a deal and allow XM to put this on the satelite. I am considering XM and this will be a deciding facter by adding this channel to the satelite so I can listen to this in my car.

I called XM again the other day and requested that they carry Enlighten on the satelite so we can listen to Enlighten in our cars. I would suggest that everyone keep calling XM and keep requesting Enlighten. I would suggest that to the last person that wants to get rid of the XM on his media player go to the down arrow on the top right of your media player and click on it then go to tools then click on options then click on player at the top and make sure connect to the internet is un checked.

There is only one reason I have not already got XM radio. No southern Gospel! Internet only is
worthless! Like someone else said, you can get it free on the internet. I want it in my vehicle. I really like the idea of listening to radio without hearing the same commercials over and over. PLEASE ADD Enlighten to the satellite lineup. Thanks
