Gary Wilson, the host and producer of the popular Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show, has reached a broadcast agreement with the America country music channel on XM Radio. At present, XM Radio has more than two million subscribers, and that total is climbing rapidly.
Dan Dixon, Music Director for the channel says: “XM Satellite Radio is proud to welcome Gary Wilson and The Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show to air on America XM Channel 10. The show will begin airing twice weekly starting this September, 2004.”
"We are extremely excited about this very innovative program created by Gary Wilson. The top five Southern Gospel songs each week will keep our listeners abreast of the incredible music of faith being created these days. The program fits right in with our Classic Country Format. Our listeners tell us they appreciate this type of programming that seems to be unavailable on any type of radio on a regular basis. Thanks to Gary, we have another avenue in which to satisfy those who enjoy Great Southern Gospel music."
The Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show is currently broadcast on 67 affiliates in the United States and Canada, and in over 175 countries worldwide on the American Forces Radio Network. In addition, the show can also be heard On Demand through a link on http://www.sgusa.com
This latest marketing success for the multi-award winning Gospel broadcaster puts the Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show on a higher plateau, and definitely raises the bar for other programs to follow. No other Southern Gospel radio program is featured on radio affiliates, websites, the American Forces Radio Network, and XM Radio.
Gary, who is known for his persistence and straightforward approach, states; “Satellite radio is to radio what cable was to television 25 years ago. It is the radio of the future and I am thrilled and thankful that my program will be a part of it. This is something that has been in the works for several months, and to finally receive word that the way has been cleared, is really very exciting. I look forward to sharing the wonderful music of our industry with many new listeners! This is a great day, not only for myself, but for Southern Gospel music as a whole!”
