The Journeymen Quartet - We Will Not Fail
The opening song gets you on your riding horse and just doesn’t let up until the last note. “If You Drink This Water” has some very intricate harmony on it. This would be a great radio cut. The title cut is just an awesome work of art. Tenor, Anthony Facello has made a name for himself in this industry for his ability to interpret a ballad. He has not let us down on this one. Inspired by the events of 9-11-01, this song has been used in the Southern Gospel soundtrack for the Left Behind movie and is making inroads for the Southern Gospel industry. This is one of those goosebump songs that you have to listen to over and over again. What a powerful song. Bass, Jason Brooks shows out a little as he performs “You Can’t Bring Me Down”. He does some low down singing on this cut. Penned by Daryl Williams, “Our daily Bread” is a beautiful song with lots of close harmony. It is a very worshipful song. You can close your eyes and just be blessed on this one. Slowing the tempo down a bit “Make Something Old Like New” is a new song with an old timey feel. Lead, Stacey Murphy does a nice job performing this one. “He Included Me” was written by Rodney Griffin and has a real; quartet feel to it. Another beautiful ballad on this CD is “Behold The King”. Baritone, Michael Mardis really sinks his teeth into this one. All I can say is WOW. The track is great too. Steve Lacy wrote this song. Good job Steve. Showing a completely different style, Steve Lacey also wrote “Keep The Faith”, an upbeat number that will have your toes to tapping. Going back in time, they pulled out “Jesus Is Getting Us Ready”. They do a great job of that close harmony required for this song. Closing out the CD with a Kyla Roland song, “The First Step” is mellow and fitting to round out this CD. It has a stirring message and is used in the liner notes to form an invitation to accept Christ. A novel concept. The CD cover is nice also, in fact one of the better put out by the genre lately. The new release by the Journeymen is their best yet. Their commitment to ministering through music is very evident in this anointed project. We are only seeing the beginning of how God is going to use the ministry of the Journeymen.

I think in a day where SOME groups are in the industry for the wrong reasons, it is refreshing to see this young group hit a grand slam with this album. I have known the members of this group for some time, and KNOW that they are focused on Christ. These guys are awesome!!!! I always say that I am pleased to see success and blessings bestowed upon those who are true to His ministry, and the Journeymen deserve all of the blessings they are receiving.

I think that We Will Not Fail, is one of the greatest songs in Southern Gospel today. I first heard it at the NQC and my dad looked at me and said "That song is gonna take them somewhere." Well it has! I think that the Journey Men Quartet is one of the greatest young quartets in the industry!!
