TWO SOUTHERN SPIN ARTISTS PERFORM AT 4th ANNUAL SoGospelNews CONVENTION
Master’s Voice and Sunday Edition please crowds
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Two of Southern Gospel’s hottest up and coming groups performed at the 4th Annual SoGospelNews Convention this past weekend, July 19, 2003. Master’s Voice and Sunday Edition both performed on the evening concert of the convention and experienced overwhelming crowd response for their sets.
Master’s Voice traveled from Oklahoma to participate in this year’s convention. They were one of only three groups invited back to perform. The group performed their hit song “I’m Gone”, as well as current single “God Can and He Will”. The group also invited Johnny Minick (of the Happy Goodmans) on stage to perform a special rendition of an old Goodmans classic.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled by performing for a second time. SoGospelNews is on the cutting edge of Southern Gospel, and we’re excited to be a part of it,” said Ricky Capps, tenor for Master’s Voice.
Sunday Edition performed on both the afternoon and evening concerts. The group debuted as Sunday Edition, after recently changing their name from The Unthanks. The group debuted two new songs written by Amy Marie, primary songwriter for the group.
“The audience reaction was wonderful,” said Deon Unthank. “Amy’s songs are always a crowd favorite.”
Both Master’s Voice and Sunday Edition are represented by publicity agency Southern Spin. The agency was one of the sponsors for this year’s concert as well.
