Yielded, formerly a female trio, has completed re-formation as a mixed trio. Based out of Durham, North Carolina, Yielded was established in May 2002. Yielded ministers not only in Southern Gospel Music, but in sharing personal experiences and testimony as well. Yielded’s slogan: “Walking, Talking, Singing, and Praising, in the name of Jesus!” is not just a slogan, but also a way of life for each member of the group.

Each member of Yielded has a vast musical background and a burning desire to minister in song and lead souls to Christ.

James Hales comes from Durham, NC and sings High Baritone for Yielded. James brings much knowledge of Southern Gospel Music to the group. James was as a Southern Gospel DJ as a Teenager. James majored in music in Piedmont
Bible College. He has taken voice lessons from well know singer, Buddy Burton and is a 1996 graduate of Steve Hurst School of music as well. James has recorded several solo projects over the years. In addition, James is a staff writer for SoGospelNews (http://www.sogospelnews.com) the #1 source of news and information on the Internet for Southern Gospel Music. He also serves as Minister of Music in his home church, Lifeline Fellowship in Durham, NC.

Laura Roy comes from Lillington, NC. Laura sings soprano for the group. When you hear her sing, you have no doubt that her voice is a product of much successful training. Laura’s formal voice training began in high school. She
studied with a private voice teacher in Connecticut (Bill Hall). Laura completed two years of Vocal performance study at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She has been active in music ministry through church most of her life.

Karen Winston, Owner and Manager of the group comes from Durham, NC. Karen is, is no stranger to Southern Gospel. With many years of prior experience, she Co-owned and Co-Managed, The Winstons out of Mebane, NC for 10 years. The latter five years The Winston's were a successful Full Time Faith Ministry. Prior to that, she sang with Crossroad, and The King’s Singers from Durham, NC.

Karen Ray is from Durham, NC. Karen has become a valuable member of Yielded. Jesus is of course the "Heart" of the Group, but Karen could be referred to as the human "heart" of the group. Her work is done mainly in the background but her part is critical to the functioning of the group.
