Rainsville, AL - The Cat Freeman Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded approximately $9000.00 in scholarships to fifty music students for 2003. Established in 1990, the Cat Freeman Foundation annually provides scholarships to aspiring young artists to study gospel music from schools such as the Alabama School of Gospel Music at Snead State College in Boaz, AL, Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Gospel Music at Trevecca University in Nashville, TN, the North Georgia School of Gospel Music at Truitt McConnel College in Cleveland, GA, and the Steve Hurst School of Music Ministries at Trevecca University in Nashville, TN. This year’s scholarship recipients range in age from 8 to 73, and represent 16 different states.

The June Gospel Jubilee, which serves as the primary fund-raiser for the scholarship program, will take place in Rainsville, AL on Saturday June 7th at 6:30pm at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum. This great concert will feature some of Southern Gospel Music’s finest quartets. You’ll hear the exciting Dove Brothers Quartet, the powerful Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet, the classic sounds of the Florida Boys, and the event’s host group, the Premiers. The Jubilee will also feature the Browns, an exciting family group from Merrill, IA, and Nat Cisco, a dynamic young artist from Scottsboro, AL.
