The Texas based trio Regeneration recently signed with New Life Talent and Promotions as their talent agency. New Life Talent is headed up by Gospel Artist Jeff Buckles and already represent some very talented and annointed singers and muscians to include Vern Jackson from TBN, Christian Country Artist Paula Slow, Christian Country Artist Dale Johnston, as well as The Toneys, Sharon Hinton Smith and Mary Courtney.
Regeneration is a Christian band based in the Dallas, Texas area and is composed of Phillip VanRavenswaay, Matt Roberson and Chris Thomas. They sing a wide variety of styles covering contemporary, praise and worship, and southern gospel. The group formed in March of 1997 and shares not only a singing ministry but also true friendship. They are unified in their goal to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ as far and as often as the Lord will allow. They believe that singing is a ministry that God chooses to use to encourage His saints, draw wayward Christians back to Him and penetrate the hearts of the lost with the good news and joy of salvation. They take their responsibility as ambassadors for Christ very seriously, singing only when and where the Lord leads and only for the glory of God.
Although Regeneration is a young group they combine for more than 40 years of experience in music ministry. The first six years of Regeneration’s ministry have been very fast paced. They recorded their first project together in November of 1998 at Square One Studios in Franklin, TN. The project was produced by Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler and features Roger Bennett, Kevin Williams, Buddy Greene, Mark Burchfield and Dave Lawbaugh as musicians. In February of 1999 they released their first single, "God is With Us", through Celebration Music Group and it received great reviews from across the country. A second release ("Leaving This World Behind") from their debut project hit the airwaves in early August of 1999. These radio releases have opened many doors for Regeneration and have helped them clarify God’s will for their ministry. Their second project, "Common Little Things", was released in the summer of 2001. This recording features 14 songs, including one written by Phillip and three new songs from Dianne Wilkinson. Regeneration is now in the studio working on a third recording expected to be released in early spring 2003.
Regeneration is simply seeking to serve the Lord with the talents He has bestowed upon them in whatever capacity He so chooses. Their mission is to challenge believers to nourish and strengthen their relationship with God, to encourage believers to stand boldly for their faith, and to share Jesus Christ with those who do not know him. They believe their job as musicians is to minister to the hearts of people. Performance and entertainment are simply tools to be used to complete the true task at hand.
