Nashville, TN– In response to consumer demand, Cathedral Records plans to release 24K Gold, a unique Gold City project featuring 24 classic Gold City favorites, along with an enhanced computer CD-ROM presentation containing exclusive audio, video, and production notes from the making of Walk the Talk Live, Gold City's latest video project (also from Cathedral Records.)
24K Gold, which is slated for an August release, will be marketed in part through a national contest in which a number of unmarked, specially manufactured "gold" CD's will be packaged and randomly inserted into shipments of 24K Gold projects around the country. Consumers who find they have purchased these gold CD's will be eligible for prizes yet to be announced by Cathedral Records.
According to Cathedral Records Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Darrel Mullins, the contest is not only designed to promote the 24K Gold project, but also to bring attention to the CD-ROM aspect of the project, which is in many ways a very new type of media for Southern Gospel music.
"This project is unique in the sense that it gives fans a chance to see Gold City in a uniquely up-close-and-personal way," states Mullins. "The CD-ROM allows us to give interactivity to the user in ways that a video can't. We're excited about the project and the contest."
Mullins states that details about the contest (including prize information) will made available soon. The Walk the Talk audio project is currently available, while the video releases in June, both from Cathedral Records, exclusively distributed through New Day Distribution.
