(Nashville, TN) Debuting from Spring Hill Music on March 25th is a trio of female vocalists who, with their individual groups, have won multiple Dove Awards. They also just happen to be best friends, which is why Joyce Martin (The Martins), Karen Peck (Karen Peck & New River) and Sheri Easter (Jeff & Sheri Easter) decided to title their first project together "Best of Friends." Each of these women has a powerhouse voice, but collectively, their vocal blend is a joy to hear.
Crossing many boundaries of musical genres, the songs of "Best of Friends" not only reflect the eclectic tastes of the singers, it is a testament to their vocal abilities. "Each of us knew that we were capable singers," explains Sheri Easter," but we had no idea that the blend was going to be so special."
"We have so much in common," Karen Peck says as she tries to explain the unique chemistry of the three singers. "We're artists, we're wives, we're mothers, we're business owners…that's part of what makes us good friends. Sheri and I have even exchanged maternity clothes!"
With each of these women on a busy touring schedule with their respective groups, carving out time to perform together is going to be a challenge, but one that they are endeavoring to make happen. "When I was asked to do this project, I hesitated a little, because I was afraid that I would fall in love with the music that the three of us would make together, and be frustrated that I couldn't perform it all of the time," Joyce Martin says with a laugh, "and that's exactly what happened!"
The first single released to southern gospel radio ("Chains Gone, Set Free") is receiving a wildly positive response. "Even Greater," the debut single released to Inspirational radio is also gaining favor with programmers nationwide.
