Julia North of The Redeemed Releases Solo Single
The Redeemed's Julia North recently released her first solo single. Julia recorded "I Couldn't Make It Without Him" as a solo on the Redeemed's latest project Overwhelming Joy. When she began to record, producer Roger Talley suggested that Julia sing the lead as well as the harmony parts.
"We really intended for the guys (Tony McGee, Mike Davis, and Julia's father John North) to be on this song. We were just playing around in the studio with that song, and Roger asked me to try and sing every part. I wasn't even sure that I could do it, or that it would sound okay. But surprisingly, it did turn out okay. Then, the record company wanted to release a solo on me," shares Julia. "I would have never dreamed I would have a song out by myself. But, God knows what He is doing. I just hope this song is an encouragement to other people like it has been to me."
Although Julia has no plans of ever singing as a soloist, she is excited to see how the response will be to her first solo release. "I Couldn't Make It Without Him" has just been released on Lighthouse Hits Volume 25, along with songs by Mike Upright, the Whisnants, the Primitive and many others.
