One of North Mississippi's biggest gospel music singings will be held at the Mall at Barnes Crossing Febraury 28, March 1 & 2, 2003. This event is known as the Gospel Music Expo. The administrator of the event Jon Eric is carrying out the vision that God gave him in 1999 to showcase local gospel music talent through song. Although many of the ministries that participate in the Gospel Music Expo are from over 8 states, this three day event is well accepted in the area. Dr. Buck Morton, the Master of Ceremonies of the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY has been involved in the event since 2001. Dr. Buck's insight and direction has helped many ministries with their mission in singing for God. "We have been very blessed with some very talented local talent not only in the North Mississippi area but in other states as well." says Administrator Jon Eric. Some of the ministries that are scheduled to be at the Gospel Music Expo 2003 are The Dunaways, Naomi & the Segos, The Bradys, The Kelly's, The Smallwoods, The Melody Trio and The Belivers. Also the return of New Ground, Appointed, Southern Image, and Steel Faith just to name a few. This "free to the public singing" will be held once again at the Mall At Barnes Crossing that is located one mile north of the intersection of US 45 and US 78 in North Mississippi.
