George Younce Health Update
George's 30 day "Event Monitor" results show that his episodes are due to an irregular heart rhythm originating in the lower chamber of his heart. When this occurs, it causes the lower and upper chambers to beat out of sync, thus explaining his symptoms of a stomach flutter and lightheadedness. This irregular rhythm, which lasts anywhere from 5 to 8 seconds, also causes a sudden drop in blood pressure which is causing the lightheadedness and dizzy feelings. Therefore, his doctor plans to replace his current ICD (pacemaker/defibrillator) with an upgraded model called a "Duel Chamber" ICD which includes an extra 'lead wire' to help eliminate the arrhythmia. This procedure will be performed at the Cleveland Clinic and will require an overnight stay. Reader Comments
