Daywind Music Group Artists Honored With Thirteen Dove Nominations

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.-Several artists and albums from the Daywind Music Group family of Hendersonville, Tenn., were honored with thirteen Dove nominations as announced at a press conference held at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in downtown Nashville, Tenn.

Nominations included Southern Gospel Recorded Song (“Don’t You Wanna Go” by The Crabb Family; “I Rest My Case At The Cross” by The Perrys); Bluegrass Recorded Song (“I Sure Miss You” by The Crabb Family; “I’ve Come To Take You Home” by The Crabb Family; “Walkin’ and Talkin’” by The Lewis Family); Country Recorded Song (“Leave Here Empty Handed” by The Hoskins Family); Southern Gospel Album (A Crabb Collection, The Crabb Family; Live At First Atlanta, Greater Vision; Safe Thus Far, The Hoskins Family); Bluegrass Album (50th Anniversary Celebration, The Lewis Family; Oh, Brother…What Now, Chigger Hill Boys and Teri); Instrumental Album (Praise & Worship Instrumental) and Special Event Album (All Star Quartets Hymns).

Daywind Records has been in existence since 1988 and is home to artists including Greater Vision, Legacy Five, The Crabb Family, Mike Bowling, The Perrys, Brian Free & Assurance, The Cumberland Quartet, The Lewis Family, The Paynes, The Southern Brothers Quartet, LordSong, The Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet and the Hoskins Family.

Daywind, voted by the Christian retail market as one of the top 10 record companies according to Christian Retailing Magazine, has dominated the national radio charts garnering Song of the Year for 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000 and over twenty number one singles in addition to now holding the record for the highest debut on the radio charts in the history of The Singing News Magazine (“We Want America Back”).

Daywind’s artists have been an active part of the growth of television exposure for Southern Gospel music with artists appearing on NBC’s “Today Show,” The Nashville Network’s (TNN’s) “Prime Time Country” and “Today’s Country,” the INSP Network, FamilyNet, the Odyssey Channel, the Grand Ole Opry, Trinity Broadcasting Network, the Gaither Video Series and the Christian Broadcasting Network among others.

The 34rd Annual Dove Awards will be held on April 10th at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tenn.
