William M. Golt, an original investor in New Day Christian Distributors and father of Dorothy Miller, President of New Day, went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, October 1, surrounded by the family he loved, served and taught.
Mr. Golt was born in Summit Bridge, Delaware, in 1916, and lived most of his 86 years in Wilmington, Delaware. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, Mr. Golt became an electrician, working 35 years for the same company until his retirement in 1981.
During retirement, Mr. Golt helped start New Day Christian Distributors which continues to serve thousands of Christian Bookstores with music, songbooks, videos and performance soundtracks and employs nearly 100 people. He was an avid gardener and handyman and devoted countless hours to his church, Hillcrest Bellefonte First United Methodist Church.
Until they can be with him in Heaven, he will be lovingingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy Golt, his son William, his daughters Dorothy and Cynthia and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends.
