CrossWay “Walk On Water Kind of Day” Debuts At #1
On the eve of the street date for Spring Hill recording artist CrossWay's brand new project, "Walk on Water Kind of Day," (in retail stores Oct. 29) it was revealed that the radio single of the same name DEBUTED in the # 1 position of one of Southern Gospel's leading online weekly charts. SoGospelNews.com, which provides Southern Gospel music lovers with the most up to date industry information on a weekly basis, posted their Weekly Top 20 for the week of October 27 with the young male quartet members of CrossWay adorning the coveted honor position.
Deon Unthank, co-owner of the website states, "We were all surprised to see "Walk on Water Kind of Day" at the top of the chart, but we just record the data sent in to us from our reporting stations." Charting criteria is selective for SoGospelNews.com. Stations considered to chart are those whose format is dedicated to Southern Gospel music only. Each selected station must log over 40 hours of music per week. Market size also plays a heavy role in the consideration criteria.
Sharing the excitement of this debut are several Spring Hill executives. President Scott Chancey states "I am so proud of CrossWay and delighted for them. Over the course of five years I have been a witness to the foundation of faith and commitment on which these men stand. This success is just the beginning for this group. We are thrilled to be their label home and we so enjoy working with them."
Marketing Director David Ecrement expresses his sentiments like this: "To see this kind of enthusiasm for CrossWay and their first single is really not a surprise to me. When you put a talented group of guys together with a great song, throw in great production and their focus on ministry... well, you can expect great things to happen! Chris, Paul, Casey and Marty are truly a pleasure to work with and I see them as the future of Southern Gospel music. With their authentic joy and honorable work ethic, CrossWay is raising the bar, not just for Southern, but for Christian artists everywhere. We look forward to great results at both radio and retail with CrossWay's "Walk On Water Kind of Day." Thanks to Southern radio for embracing this title cut as the first single!"
Radio Promotions Coordinator Buffi Holland says, "No one deserves this honor more than these guys! They have worked really hard and been very faithful. It has been a huge honor to work with them and to hear the feedback from radio professionals and fans about how this song is uplifting them and bringing joy to their lives. The title has taken on a kind of "pop culture" characteristic; you know, have a 'Walk on Water Kind of Day.' Radio deserves a huge credit for bringing this debut single to the masses."
CrossWay is not the only Spring Hill artist enjoying top 20 status from the SoGospelNews.com airplay chart this week. Labelmates The Martins, Karen Peck & New River, The Hoppers, and The Oak Ridge Boys all hold placements on the SoGospelNews.com Top 20 chart as well.
