I am writing this article just moments after attending Anthony Burger’s funeral.  Our hearts are saddened by his untimely death.  We extend our deepest sympathies to the Anthony Burger family.  Please know that we hold you close in our thoughts and prayers!    

Over the weekend Kevin and I had the opportunity to attend the McGruder’s anniversary services in Kennett, MO.  It was a beautiful weekend of services celebrating their 25th anniversary as pastor of the church in Kennett that also celebrated their new position as Bishop over the church.  Rev. Donnie Sheerin will serve as the Senior Pastor of the Kennett church.  It was so remarkable to watch as the mantle was passed from Rev. Carroll McGruder to Rev. Donnie Sheerin during the events of the weekend. Bro. and Sis. Sheerin are a delightful couple who went above and beyond to give honor to the McGruders during these special services.  Among the artists who sang during these events were Roland Baker, Stan Cook, Jack Campbell, Teresa Baker, Marty McMillan, Connie Shepherd and of course The McGruders.  The McGruders were joined on stage by Stan Cook!  That performance took us all down memory lane and blessed everyone in attendance!  What a blessing to know the McGruders and to see this beautiful chapter in their lives open!  Priscilla and Carroll, we love and appreciate both of you!
