I can't imagine what the family must be going through. Vestal has made such an impression on my family's life. It will not be the same to not see her on the Gaither videos. My children have grown up on the Homecoming Kids Videos. Vestal was one of their favorite characters. We'll miss you Vestal!!
Vestal,
I've enjoyed you for years, and can't wait to enjoy you up in heaven "when they ring those golden bells".

I attended Vestal's service yesterday and what a celebration of her life! It was an awesome afternoon. Very fitting for such a precious lady! We will miss her.
This was a shock to all of us.But this is what Vestal lived her life for.Heaven just gained another one of our great singers.God Bless The Family left here waiting to join Vestal, Howard, Sam and Rusty, and our own singing family members. One day I do want To Stroll Over Heaven With You.The Goodman Family are in my prayers.
what a great gift vestal was from God to us .we must remember that God only loaned her to us now she resides with him. What a reunion day we will all have in glory when we get home.
:( What will we do now without this beautiful voice to minister to us? I know it's selfish to say, but I wasn't ready to give her up. But, I guess God was needing her, too. We'll see you all real soon.
It seems only yesterday I saw Vestal in Charleston, S.C. in concert, and Howard passed away not many days after that. She was so brave and kept right on singing the gospel and spreading the word whenever and wherever she could. I started listening to the Goodmans as a child, and remember so vividly seeing them in Raleigh, N. C. as a child. She is truly the Lead Soprano in Heaven's choir.
I love her and will miss her.
God's peace to her family and dear friends. Shirley
What an example. I pray that we all remember and follow in Vestal's wonderful footsteps.
Maybe I should have been sad when I heard the news of Vestal’s passing. But, all I could do was smile when I thought about the rejoicing as she embraced Howard, Rusty, and Sam. I first met Vestal in 1958 when she and Howard held a four-week revival in our little church in KY. Since then she and Howard were steadfast encouragers and mentors for my wife and me. We will miss her clear, sweet voice singing about her beloved Jesus. She doesn’t need those ever-present hankies now because there are no more tears.
When Vestal sang, people sat up and took notice. Truly Heaven's Choir is sounding better than ever. I'm sure they'll give her a featured solo quiet often. I look forward to hearing you in Heaven Vestal. The Hills of Home Keep Calling Me!
  When I first heard the Goodman's I was stirred down deep in my soul. I still listen to their music as often as I can. Vestal and Howard have inspired me for the last 30 years. The Happy Goodman's, were a truly anointed group sent by the Lord, sent to bless and encourage so many of us.I am sure I will be able to see them in heaven, Soul's Harbor is their new home. God bless their family. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
After hearing Vestal sing about Heaven all my life, I can imagine her singing around the throne. She has now had the privilege of putting her hand in that nail-scarred one and hearing "Well done." It will be Heaven some day to get to stand next to her and praise Jesus in her choir! She is missed here, but Heaven will be richer some day for all of us because Vestal will be on the welcoming committee!
I was saddened when I heard about Vestal's passing, but oh what she must be doing up in heaven, singing and having a wonderful time. I was looking forward to seeing her in Salt Lake City in March of this year at the Delta Center. Our prayers go out to her family.

My husband and I went to Fyffe on our way home from Florida (we are snowbirds) We found the Highway Church of God and was thrilled to go in side. The pastor's wife gave us 1988 church directy > In side the church was a beautfil stained glass in memory of Cat Freeman. Vestal looked a lot like her mother. We then went to the little cemetery up the lane. A marker for Cat Freeman was beautfil. Vestal, I loved you. See you in our father's house.
"Oh come angel band, come and around me stand, oh bear me away on your snowy wings to MY emortal HOME"... at last, at last FINALLY FINALLY HOME WITH JESUS! We miss you a lot Vestal. I listen to your songs to and from work... and I could not even be able to tell which I would sing for you now - if I were with you there. I love you hear you sing... "THIS IS WHAT HEVEN MEANS TO ME..." and now, I know you are looking at the BLESSED FACE OF JESUS - the One you sing about all your life... God bless you 'til we meet again. Maggiemae and John Baerken
I still miss seeing Vestal on the Gaither's Homecomings, I listen often to her Music, she was such an imspiration in her Song's, I can just see her In The Presense Of The King, after her Meeting with Howard at the Eastern Gate, I Loved Her Singing, Wish I could have met her in Life, I'll meet her in Heaven Someday, God Bless You Vestal
