After a recent program in Georgia, we were blessed to have met a young anesthesiologist at our product table. She walked up and, as tears filled her eyes, she told us to never stop singing "I Get To." She said this because she recently lost her husband -- her soulmate. We discussed the overwhelming difficulty of such a loss and how we should be thankful for every day we get to spend with the ones we love. There are so many people who don't have, or who refuse to see, the blessings God has given us. Like the song says, We don't HAVE to do the things of life as we travel on this journey, WE GET TO! Each day is a new opportunity to share God's love, hug a loved one, say a prayer, take the time to help someone do a difficult chore at home or church, read to a child, visit a nursing home, volunteer at a homeless shelter, food bank or soup kitchen, go for a run, exercise, take the dog for a walk in the rain, feed that no good rabbit at the Johnson home (a personal favorite of mine!), or do a host of other things that we might take for granted or might not want to do.
We GET to be with loved ones, while many folks don't. We GET to go to church, although many refuse to do so or think it is a burden. We GET to go to work, when so many others are jobless and even homeless. We GET to care for our children even when we are dead tired after a long day. Many others cannot have children or have lost children or, worse, are giving up children through the devastating abortion process. We GET to tell our loved ones how much we love them, while others refuse to say "I love you" or can no longer say "I love you" to a loved one who has passed. In sum, God has blessed us so much that we should be thankful for our opportunities -- even when those opportunities are difficult or inconvenient.
In closing, let's be thankful that we GET to share the love of God and his Son, Jesus Christ every day in so many ways! Sharing may not seem easy and it may not seem convenient, but its amazing how much more easy and convenient it becomes when we realize that we don't have to do it -- instead we GET to do it!
God Bless!

Love the new single "I get to". What a message and reminder of God's constant faithfulness to us. It's a priviledge to serve him. I don't have to, I get to!
