The Quicks - Something Old Something New

imageProduced by Tommy Cooper
Independent Label

The Quicks are a fine young family group consisting of “Dad” Tim Quick, “Mom” Sally Quick, and daughters Rachel and Rebecca.

Opening the CD is a traditional sounding song. “Something Old/Something New” gets up and moves right along, and will have your hands clapping before the song is finished. Written by Sally Quick, this cong shows that she has a real flare for songwriting. Also written by Sally, “Following His Lead” is a song with some very pretty harmony. The message of the song is that of comfort and encouragement. Penned by none other than group member Sally Quick, she is also featured on this song. “Behold The Land” slows the pace down a bit and gives some soul stirring thoughts.

“Won’t We Be Happy In Heaven” is an old GT “Dad” Speer song, sang as a duet by Tim and Sally. Keeping with the title of the CD, other “something old” songs include James D Vaughn’s up-tempo song “I Know I’m His”, as well as “Walking A New Road”, and Dottie Rambo’s classic “Too Much To Gain To Lose”.

My favorite song on the CD is a song very fitting for todays time entitled “The Uniform”, no doubt inspired by Tim’s many years spent in the US Military. Sally did a great job of relating the earthly uniform with the spiritual uniform we wear in fighting for the Lord as she wrote this stirring ballad.

Great review Deon, The Quicks are a hard working family who know what first class quality is all about. The CD is nothing short of fabulous and shows absolute dedication in presenting the word in song. This is a highly recommedned CD buy to keep for life and to buys as a present for the lost family and friends you may have. Buy it, you will try to wear it out.

Thank God for such a talented family. They have so richly blessed our lives through their music. My favorite is "Behold the Land". The girls too are such an inspiration. A Mom would be proud to have their little girls looking up to young ladies like Rachel & Rebecca Quick. See them in concert when you can and make sure to get a copy of their CD. The girls are great!!!

I have seen the Quicks in concert and have talked with them afterward. They are a great group bringing an even greater message and doing it with the love and passion Jesus inspires in fresh, young true believers. They uplift and inspire me every time I listen to this or any of the songs Sally writes. Thank you, Lord for them.
