The Bradfords Announce Formation of New Publication
Memphis, TN - Steve and Christie Bradford, founders of the talented musical group, The Bradfords, have announced the formation of a brand new Southern Gospel Music newspaper. Gospel Music News will debut in December, 2006. According to the Bradfords, the newspaper is being dedicated to one of Southern Gospel Music’s greatest supporters, Paul Boden, founder of the US Gospel News. “Southern Gospel Music lost one of its greatest supporters earlier this month when Paul Boden passed away, following his battle with cancer,” Steve Bradford stated. “Christie and I, after much thought and prayer, have decided to begin this new venture in memory of our dear friend.”
According to Bradford, the Gospel Music News will be published monthly in a newspaper format, with an annual subscription rate of $20.00. In addition to the Bradfords some of the contributing editors for the Gospel Music News will include Dr Jerry Goff, Dr Buck Morton, Judy Nelon, Lou Hildreth, Rick Busby and Dianne WIlkinson, just to name a few.
Advertisers interested in obtaining rates or Southern Gospel Music lovers who would like to subscribe to the Gospel Music News may contact the publication at 901-377-8853.

does this mean us gospel news is no more?
OH PLEASE-if this isnt Pauls newspaper. And you didn't pay anything to use his name or likeness. How about we dont launch a paper out of memory of a man if he or his relatives are not benefiting. Come on guys-please. Send him a plaque. Send his family a trophy-Dont take his LIFE of hard work, spin it into a merciless act- And take over a market share before this wonderful mans grave has even grassed over- SHAME on you two.
Dale
I have to agree with Dale. The Bradfords are trying to use a respected name and tie it to their venture. It's a shame. If you want to honor his name buy a full page ad in the U.S. Gospel News telling of the good things he has done. Don't hone in on his newspaper and try to take the advertising dollar away from his employees and try to pass it off like you are doing something good. If you want to start a newspaper that's fine, but don't do it in memory of someone who's newspaper is still going.
Don't you think that you should get all of the facts before you get so negative about the subject. The Bradfords were very close to Paul and his family and have great respect for them. The whole situation was discussed with the Boden family and you can see that many of the writers are running with Steve and Christie to make it something nice in Paul's honor, so obviously there was no problem, and what the Bradfords are doing is being taken as an honor by the Boden family. I am stunned by your uninformed negative reactions.

I have to agree with Deon Unthank. We know Steve and Christie and they are wonderful, sweet people. Please folks, get all the facts before you start passing judgement. As time goes by, I'm sure the facts will emerge and it is probably something completely different from what you guys are thinking.
I have nothing but respect for US Gospel News. They have survived while many publications have come and gone.
This press release does raise an obvious question of whether or not USGN will continue, though. It appears that most of the writers will be moving to the new publication. If Gospel Music News is going to be a competing publication, then the memorial to USGN's former owner has the outward appearance of being in poor taste (even if it isn't in reality). My first thought after reading the press release was very similar to Dale Embry's...it's just a natural thought to have if you consider that it may be a competing publication.
Then it occured to me that maybe Gospel Music News is going to replace USGN. If that's the case, then the memorial to Mr. Boden makes perfect sense...but to date, no one has said USGN is going away, and USGN hasn't responded to an email I sent asking for clarification last Saturday...maybe they haven't had time.
I have no vested interest in the matter one way or the other, but someone did give me a USGN subscription time ago, so I'm just curious as to whether I'm going to continue receiving them.

Agree/let's support the new publication and Steve and Christie.
And, let's remember to pray for Donna Kaye Rogers and all of Paul Boden's family. He was a great guy.
