Lights! Camera! Action!
Each week, The Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show is heard on radio stations across the country and around the world. The show is currently broadcast on nearly 70 radio affiliates from coast to coast, and On Demand 24/7 at http://www.sgusa.com . For over three years, the program has been a staple on the American Forces Radio Network, which is broadcast in over 175 countries worldwide. In January 2005, the Southern Gospel USA Countdown Show was
added to America, a Country music channel (10) on XM Radio, making it the first and only Southern Gospel music countdown show on satellite radio. The chart compiled by Gary Wilson each week is the oldest national weekly chart in Southern Gospel music and considered by most in the industry to be the most accurate. The chart recently caught the attention of Word
Distribution, the largest Christian Music distributor, and was added to the Word Distribution website (http://www.worddistribution.com ) as the benchmark for sales reps to push product in retail outlets. This is the only Southern Gospel chart utilized by Word Distribution.
Next month, production will begin on the Southern Gospel USA television show.
Bob Carlton, an executive with the local PAX affiliate, WNPX-PAX 28 states, "PAX-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, is pleased to announce the addition of the Southern Gospel USA television show to its program schedule. The show will be hosted by multi-award winning radio personality, Gary Wilson, and will debut on April 13, 2005 at 10:30PM. We have served the interest of the viewing public in Nashville and Middle Tennessee for many years, and we are
happy to bring to its many viewers, the best in Southern Gospel music. We look forward to a long and successful relationship."
Wilson states, "this process began several months ago, and I am thrilled that production will begin soon! The people at the local PAX affiliate in Nashville have been great, and I am grateful for their assistance and encouragement! I agree with Bob. This should be a long and successful relationship. I look forward to working with PAX for many years to come!"
Production begins in March, so when asked about the first broadcast date, Wilson explains, "I chose April 13th because that is the date in 1987 that my radio program made its debut on WRMT in my hometown of Rocky Mount, North Carolina."
WNPX reaches nearly one million households throughout Middle Tennessee. This is great news, and a great opportunity, but it gets even better. The Southern Gospel USA television program will also be available online, On Demand, 24/7! An agreement has been reached with Sunlite Broadcasting to host the program, and make it available On Demand for high-speed Internet customers around the globe! A test of the program online has already been
conducted, and it worked seamlessly! High-speed Internet customers will be able to maximize their computer Media Player and watch the program, at their convenience!

Gary,
Here is a high-five for you. Way to go and I know that while on TV, as in radio, you will represent SG with class!
Randy
It sounds great to me as well, but I'm just curious about one thing the press release didn't make clear . . . will this be a SG video countdown or will it be based on the audio chart?
If it's limited to SG songs that have accompanying videos made, are there really enough professional quality Southern Gospel videos being made for it to be successful? If it's based on the existing radio airplay chart, what sort of visuals will be shown on TV while the songs are playing?
(Sorry, my dial up connection isn't quick enough to preview the show at the link provided.)
I am looking for Mark Lewis the violinist, He
plays gospel music.
Thanks
Congrats Gary!! You just keep adding to your list of accomplishments!! I am so very proud of you!!!
I was planning to email Gary, but he saw my question and sent me an email reply before I got around to it. He said this will be a show that features SG videos, but it will not be in a countdown format like his radio broadcast.
Congratulations Gary! The show is up and is available on-line from his website at http://www.sgusa.com and its great! He's done such an awesome job putting it together and I know he's put a lot of hours in on it! I'm so very proud of you G! ![]()
