Rick Hendrix to Attend Civil Forum with McCain and Obama

Rick Hendrix of the Rick Hendrix Company who was elected a US Presidential Delegate this year was invited to attend the first Presidential forum between McCain and Obama. This will be the first joint appearance of the two presumptive nominees of both parties for President, and one of only four joint appearances of the campaigns, including three debates planned for later this fall. The debate will take place at Rick Warrens Saddleback Church in California. Rick Warren the author of "The Purpose Driven Life" pastors the 80,000 plus congregation and will moderate the event. "I was very excited to be invited to Pastor Warren's historical event," stated Hendrix."I missed a few stops the Clinton's and other campaign staff made to the church in California during the primary season and look forward to seeing and connecting with some very important figures in today's religious and political movement." The forum will be broadcast on all networks Saturday August 16 in a two hour non-debate format, from 5 pm to 7 pm PDT. For more information visit http://www.rickhendrix.com

I am a bit confused and disappointed to find that a fine Christian gentleman with a great reputation in the industry would support a candidate who believes in killing babies and in same sex unions. My Bible tells me these are sins and there is no gray area in the Bible. I am proud that Christian people have been more prominent in politics lately, but wonder how they get past these two major issues.

kellygirl, Mr. Hendrix doesn't say he's supporting Obama. He's going to a forum where both Obama and McCain will be present.

Hi, SpotsyDebbie: Thank you for your response. I know Rick has stated in the past that he is a Democrat who will stand for his Christian values. It is good that I personally don't have to understand how that can happen. To me, what the Democratic Party stands for and what the Bible stands for are diametrically opposed. But I certainly have not been happy with the Republicans, so I guess I'm personally in a no win situation on the political front.

Hi, kellygirl. I agree with you. For the most past, I don't see how someone with Christian values can vote Democratic - especially in this election. I personally feel that if the Christians in this country had gone to the polls like they were given the opportunity to do in the primaries, this might be a very different election and it might be a Huckabee-Obama race rather than a McCain-Obama one. Wouldn't that have been great?! Now, I fear, we're stuck with the "lesser of two evils." This election year, it won't be a vote FOR someone; it'll be a vote AGAINST someone else.
