Oasis - Leavin’ In Style

Website: www.oasisgospel.com
Song Titles: “A Victim Of Love,” “The Sower's Prayer,” “Nothing Left To Prove,” “Lord Carry Me (Monica's Song),” “If Those Walls Could Talk,” “I'm Runnin' On,” “Family Altar,” “Leavin' In Style,” and “O I Want To See Him”

Oasis is a trio based in Alabama with an easy going Country style. Their CD titled Leavin' In Style includes just nine tracks. The packaging quality leads you to believe it was made on a tight budget. I was pleasantly surprised when I began listening, though. The production quality is very good, with some recognizable names like Randy Miller , Danny Crawford and Rabbit Easter credited as players.

Group member Jim Marona wrote eight songs for this project. I didn't hear the next “Rise Again” on this CD or anything, but it's obvious he knows his craft. “Lord Carry Me” is his best track on this recording. “I'm Runnin' On” has a bass vocal part in addition to the trio, but no one is credited for singing the fourth part. Perhaps Marona pulled double duty in the studio? The title track is actually the least interesting, in my opinion. For the final song, the group went all the way back to 1916 for a classic written by R. H. Cornelius, “O I Want To See Him.”

I'm not exactly sure how long ago this project was made. There's no date showing the year of release. Regardless, Leavin' In Style shows there is good potential for Oasis.
