That's great! Perhaps if Mr. Carter hears the gospel in song he'll truly become born again.

Not something I would be proud of. Jimmy Carter has supported fellow Democrats at all costs. Even when they zealously supported abortion and the gay agenda. It's amazing how convenient it is to call yourself a Christian when you need the conservative vote. Just ask Barack Obama.

Chris D. Unthank's avatar Come on guys - they just performed for him. It doesn't mean they support his political views. I think it would be exciting to sing in front of any president - current or former.

AGM's avatar This is not the place for political discussion. Further political posts will be removed.

Let me be clear, my earlier comment had NOTHING to do with politics. It had to do with sound doctrine, something Mr. Carter does not follow. Anyone who truly wants to know this can simply read his own writings. Proper discernment of things such as this are sadly missing within Gospel music. For example, the airwaves are filled with music from singers and groups who deny the historic doctrine of the Trinity.
By the way I meant no direspect to New Ground at all.

Reading these negative comments regarding another individuals relationship with Christ is very disturbing to me. I am constantly reading blogs and other forums that ask the question, "why is Southern Gospel music dying". One look into the minds of many of its listners, and the answer becomes painfully clear... IGNORANCE! To think that anyone would be interested in "following" music with such a negative, closeminded, and judgemental fanbase is nothing short of dreaming. I am amazed that from one small press release, so many negative comments about another person (who most of you have never met) can be born. Do you people just absolutely ignore the teaching of Christ? Love, compassion, understanding for those who may not share your same ideas? Pres. Carter is no saint... but then again, who is! I am tired of the same old "im right and your different" mentality. Because of you, I am ashamed to invite my peers to listen to the music that I love so dearly. Fans have been critical of clothes, hair, make-up, buses, sound equipment, bands, and even promoters who sell concert tickets. GET A LIFE PEOPLE... NOBODY wants to be part of your negative fanbase. YOU are the reason this great music is dying. YOU are afraid that maybe... just maybe, you dont have the market cornered on ministry and you are dead set on destroying anything OR anyone who challenges your one demensional lifestyle. I know your rebutle, so save it.... "your only trying to live inside the guidelines that GOD has set aside for his people". To bad most of you only live within those guidelines when the stage lights are focused on someone else. YOU ARE A GENERATION OF VIPERS (look it up) and you are not only destroying this music, but you are completely clouding the waters that CHRIST calls for ALL-ALL-ALL to drink. GET OUT OF THE WAY... everybody has a bucket and you dont own the well.
