Former Florida Boys & Dixie Echoes bass singer, Billy Todd, passed away this morning (November 30th), after a long battle against alzheimers. Arrangements are still pending. Stewart Varnado has a special "Remembering Billy Todd" page on the Dixie Echoes website: http://www.dixieechoes.com that consists of a brief biography along with many pictures of Billy throughout the years.
Please remember the Todd family in your prayers during this time.

I remember talking with Billy at the 2000 NQC, he told me that if God would let him sing bass, he would only sing gospel music, he got his prayer answered, and now he is seeing the one that he sang about for so many years, remember this though...we will be with Billy, alot longer than we will be with out him.
Be the kind of Christian that when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devils says “Oh No, he’s up!!”
I will not soon forget when our group ... "Mencer, White & Cheney" had the opportunity to have our booth beside the Dixie Echoes Qt. at NQC 2 years in a row. They are such genuine quality Christian gentlemen whom I highly repect. I had a chance in those 2 years to sit down and talk to Billy on a few occasions and he was such a great Christian man. I highly admire him for his being involved in giving advice to young groups in our industry. He will be missed, but not forgotten. Blessings to the Dixie Echoes for recognizing this true hero and legendary figure of the southern gospel music family.
Billy Todd was always gracious and respectful to me in the several times we had the chance to sit and visit, both at Suwannee River and NQC. He was quite the gentleman and you could tell he had a genuine concern for "newer" artists. I will always remember his kindness to me. We could use more like him. My condolences to his family
My prayers are with the family, and the world of Southern Gospel Music..we have lost another friend.
I remember we had the Dixie Echoes at our church in Bakersfield, CA one year. We had pot-luck that afternoon, and I found my self sitting across the table from Billy.
Billy was a great guy, with a cannon of a voice. He will always be loved. God, be with his family at this time .
