Everlasting Hope - Everlasting Hope

Produced by Wesley Pritchard

Recorded at Mill West Studios, Fayetteville , NC

Independent Label

Once in a while you run into a new group that sets you on your heals with their first CD. Even rarer is when this group is an all female group. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being prejudicial against female groups, after all I'm married to a female, but most of the time female groups sound very similar with their high harmonies. This brilliant new group, Everlasting Hope, does not fall into that age old trap. They actually do some low harmonies that set them apart from every other female group in the genre.

Their diverse song selection is also interesting. You will hear glimpses of the Martins, as well as Hope's Call, yet they have their own unique sound. This CD is filled with lots of energy, as well as some fascinating special effects.

Opening the CD with “Down By The River” you get a real feel for just how close the harmony is as these four ladies sing together. These ladies are beyond the need of doing “cover” tunes on their CDs, however for their first recording, it gives us some comparison of how the their singing matches up to the top notch performers that they covered. This is especially noticeable in “Day Three.” I love LordSong's original cut of the song, but when these four gals start winging it, you never even notice that someone else has already recorded the song.

“Working For My Good” is an up-tempo number that would go great on radio. I can see the tension leaving drivers as they hear this cut at drive time. The message of this song sets your mind at ease. “God Has Got A Plan For Me” stretches them a little stylistically as they push the progressive limits on this some, but it sure sounds good. My favorite song on the CD is “Pray, Pray, Pray.” I have it on my disc that I put together for my nightly walks. It gives me some real perk in my step.

While I really love their up-tempo numbers, they perform strong ballads like “The Risen Lamb,” “God Is My Refuge And Strength,” and “Go.” They also do a superb job on their a capella rendition of “All Hail The Power.” Other songs include “Stronger For It,” “Walk His Way,” and “King Eternal.”

I agree with you Jonathan. These ladies can forevermore sing. EH is one of the most exciting groups I've come across in a long time. Get your hands on a copy of their CD and be blessed.

I think there are a solid 3 more songs on this CD that could be big hits for these ladies. "Pray, Pray, Pray" will be a great transition tune after "Go" - which would be a Top 20 hit, IMHO.

However, though a big edgy - "God Has Got a Plan for Me" could be a big hit if radio got behind it.

I love this CD. It's a bit heavy on the cover side, but still very strong because of the girl's phenominal talent.

    Dear Everlasting Hope,

Love your sound, your spirits and your hearts for the Lord Jesus. Thanks for cutting our song "Down By The River". Radio is going to love it. You all are awesome, talented, and annointed of the Lord. I know God is going to do great things through you. Blessings to you all and your families. Sincerely, In Christ ...
