Dottie Rambo won the hearts of many folks who attended one of her inspiring concerts here in Alton, IL in the 1970's. She sang and literally brought Heaven's reality into the auditorium through her marvelous ministry in song. We send our heartfelt condolences to the family over this loss, and pledge to never stop using her songs that the Lord gave to all of us through her anointed pen.

I was shocked by the news. It just doesn't seem real. She has been such an inspiration and an icon representing Southern Gospel Music before men through a real relationship with the Lord that was easily seen. What an example she set for all of us to carry out. We love you Dottie; you will be greatly missed.
We had the privilege of sharing the stage with Dottie exactly 3 weeks before her tragic death. We had a chance to visit with her and tell her how much she means to us.
She was wonderfully used of the Lord - and will be greatly missed. We are in prayer for her family and those still injured.

I did not know Dottie personally, but I do know she has written some great music that has been sung and is still being sung to glorify our Lord. These songs will be remembered as well as the person that wrote them. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

I was awakened Sunday morning with the news of Dottie Rambo's death. I can't even begin to explain the influence The Rambos. and Dottie personally, have had on me personally and as a musicain. As a young kid, the Rambos Trio introduced me (via TV)to mixed gospel singing with a vocal twist I hadn't heard (or noticed ) before. They sang a "meatier" type of gospel song, musically and lyrically. They would "swap" parts and I remember trying to figure out what they were doing! I looked forward to each show, with little Mrs. Dottie playing that huge guitar!

I will never forget Dottie who had a very personal impact on my life. She was such an inspiration to songwriters. I remember at one of our songwriter meetings when she taught us principals of great songwriting. She was such an encourager. My friend Tery Wilkins and I were talking on the phone yesterday about how her legacy will live on through other writers who she loved, helped and nurtured. We will miss you Dottie ... but we know we will soon see you again. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all her family through this difficult time.
I never had the joy of meeting Dottie but I did see her in person a couple of years ago & what a night that was. However, she is now free of pain & face to face with her Lord whom she served so faithfully for so many years.
God is good all the time & all the time God is good.

I loved Dottie's music. When I first came to know the Lord, I'd watch TBN when she was on and her music ministered to me so! I can just see Dottie and Anthony Burger sitting at the piano can't you? Along with all the other Southern Gospel Greats. Dottie, you will be MISSED! Praise the Lord you are with JESUS!! Hallelujah!
To the Rambo Family: I, too, lost my mother on Mother's Day (1991). I now cherish this day every year and use it as a special day to remember my mother and all the wonderful years we had. She loved Dottie Rambo's music and, as a result, I too love the music - Straight from God's heart to encourage His children. In time, I know you will be able to use Mother's Day as a celebration of your great and wonderful mother and grandmother. You are in my prayers.

The impact that Dottie had on lives with her songs will go on.She was a person that had many trials of which they all made her stronger and more humble giving her a great testimony in song. Her life in song will live on in a beautiful harmony of just how great his love is.
