Come On Down To The Farm

On Tuesday evening, May 13th, the music video, "Come On Down To The Farm" hit both YouTube and GodTube on the internet. The song has literally exploded with over fifteen thousand hits within the first seven days.

Written by Rick Wingerter and performed by Lewis & Lewis, the song is a light-hearted, humorous look at the serious social problems of homosexually and same-sex marriage. The timing could not have been more perfect for the duo since the video went up on the web two days before the landmark ruling by California's Supreme Court overturning a law which prohibited same-sex marriage in that state.

The song is obviously being applauded by the conservative church-world while drawing fire from gay rights activists. One thing is sure, "Farm" is reaching new audiences heretofore inaccessible to gospel music and Lewis & Lewis are making a multitude of new friends (and a few enemies) for their uncompromising stand.

This song explains it well. I think it is a choice.

Lewis and Lewis you know this will certainly cause the GLBT community to feel welcome to the Christian community...NOT...this sort of hatred will continue causing them to be pushed out...this is pure ignorance...i think your time would be better spent by singing about the salvation, love and forgiveness Jesus offers to everyone.

This song was not written with a hateful heart but out of compassion for Souls. Everyone needs to make thier own choice this song was written to shine light on a truth that is clearly covered in Gods word.

KingsmenLead's avatar Thank God for folks willing to take a stand and call wrong that which is wrong. It doesn't matter if it's an addiction, adultery, greed, strife and envy, homosexuality, whatever - SIN is SIN and not only is the refusal of people to seek forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus Christ sending millions to hell, but it is also separating so-called Christians from God. My prayer is that our country - our people, our leaders, our entertainers, our churches, worship leaders and pastors (Hello?), EVERYBODY - will turn back to Jesus and turn away from sin. Great song/video delivered in a somewhat light-hearted way, but full of the facts nonetheless.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6
