Family Matters….

January was a busy month for our artists. Many of them are seeing some of the busiest times of their ministry as the New Year gets underway.

The Dunaways’ current single, “God Will Move,” has reached the Top 60 on the Singing News charts, coming in at number 55 for the month of February. The group’s new single, “Calvary Still Touches Me,” has just shipped to radio.

This group has also scored in personal appearances with their Jan. 27th concert at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tenn., sold out a week before the event. God is using The Dunaways in a mighty way.

Christlike’s newest release, “Here I Am Again,” is generating calls from across America – from fans and programmers. The song was included in the Singing News Top 20 New Releases. If you haven’t heard this one, call your favorite radio station today and request it!

Sharron Kay King’s debut single “Small Piece of Clay” from her project One Step At A Time has created unprecedented retail success for her with both the full CD and the tracks from her single. And fans are still sending emails about her recent appearance at the Elco Theater in Elkhart, Ind., with a huge crowd in attendance. Her new single has just shipped to radio also. You can call and request “My Best Friend” right now!

The freshman release for our newest artist, Jamie Farmer, has been sent to radio on our Feb. 2005 Radio Compilation Disc. It’s a great song, “Livin’ for the Lord,” and it’s the title song from his brand new Butler Music Group CD.

The Glovers, whose hit song “Oh Why?” won them fans across the country, have just released “I Dreamed I Drove the Nails.” This song, from the pens of Jeff Silvey, Larry Williams and Kim Williams, should really add to that fan base. This husband-wife duo will be back in the studio in March. Look for a dynamite project from these two.

Danny Roberts has just come off the road from touring with Dolly Parton. He is a founding member of the bluegrass super group, The Grascals. Danny is also a mandolin player of the highest order and has released his first national single, “Old Paths,” on FMG Feb. 2005 Radio Compilation. This instrumental will put him well on the way to becoming a household name.

We are excited about our radio releases and radio promotions with Journey Records. Recent releases from this label include the Journeymen Quartet, Chosen Few and Jessica King. Coming next month will be a brand new release from Terry Terrell.

We have some classic names cropping up on our latest comp disc – Hinson and Minick. Eric Hinson is back with that great Hinson sound on his new FMG release, “Once Again.” The first single from Johnny Minick and Friends: A Tribute to the Happy Goodmans is on the Feb. 2005 disc also, “Telling My Blues Goodbye.” Aaron Minick, Michael Sykes and Les Butler produced this new project.

Other new singles on the Feb. comp disc come from Sondra Burnett, Bunces and Voices Won. It’s a disc full of great music!

Three more quick items and we’re out of here for this month.

First, don’t miss the National Quartet Convention’s Bluegrass Showcase at this year’s gathering. Les Butler will once again co-produce the show with Tim Surrett.

Second, Family Music Group/Butler Music Group will hold a showcase featuring its artists at NQC 2005. Watch for details to come.

Third -- and this is from the heart – we need to be much in prayer for the greatest music in the world, Southern Gospel Music. This could be a year of many changes. The world NEEDS our music! It convicts the sinner and comforts the saved. We thank God for all our artists and industry people who labor in this harvest field.

See you next month!
In His joy,
Henrietta Brown
