Greater Vision’s ‘Faces’ Touching Lives

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.—The current single from Greater Vision, “Faces,” is playing on radio stations worldwide and receiving tremendous response. The song, penned by Vision’s own Rodney Griffin, is explained in a letter written by Gerald Wolfe of Greater Vision.

“All of us have faces from the past in our memories that we cherish. Faces of people who had a major influence on our lives and caused us to want to have a personal relationship with Christ. Faces with names that the world will never know, but whose lives are still touching every person who listens to this recording because of the lasting impression they made on our lives. Faces of godly parents, M.L. and Mary Wolfe, Jeff and Sue Griffin, and Wayne and Ramona Waldroup, who live consistent, godly lives that set examples for us to live by. Faces with names like Bill West, who lead Jeff Griffin to Christ; Paul Beck, a faithful Bible teacher who taught Rodney in a "Royal Ambassadors" class; Sherry Hampton, who taught Rodney the "New Testament Song,” which Rodney has passed on to his daughters; Lee Robertson, a man who took an interest in a 3-year-old Gerald and encouraged him to "stand up and sing;" Lester Shockley, who taught Gerald in a "Junior Boys" Sunday School class; Jeff Barry, captain of Jason's church bus route who gave him his first responsibility in church work. All these faces, and others that won't fit on this page, have played a role in leading many to Christ because of the influence they had on us.

Our prayer for you, as you listen to this song, is that you will receive encouragement, knowing that you are touching people's lives everyday as you live for the Lord. When you stand before God, you will see the faces of the people that your life touched that you didn't even realize you were touching...by being faithful to the call that God placed on your life, no matter how insignificant it seems today. A life lived for Jesus really does make a difference!”

“Faces” is touching countless lives with its powerful lyrics. The following are just a few examples we have received:

"I gave up my youth group worker position one year ago due to lack
of interest from the parents. After hearing this song, I'm returning
home to take back my position."
Darlene Miller
LaCenter, KY

"I am 73 years old, and this is the most awesome and moving thought
that I've ever heard put to music."
Jerry Gloss
Loveland, CO

"I was more moved by this song than by a hundred sermons."
Mel Herman
Louisville, KY

The first time I heard this song, I just sat and cried. Sometimes when you do what we do, you start to wonder if anyone has been touched or if what your doing even counts for anything. Of course I know the answer to that and we'll see the rewards once we get to Heaven. This song just puts that all into words, exactly how I feel. Thanks to Rodney and Greater Vision for writting and recording this wonderful song.

This song is a perfect follow-up of the popular, "Just One More Song." Thank you, Greater Vision for inspiring OTHERS in the industry in a very special way. Like Jonathan, I just wept and wept when I first heard this song at their concert. The next time I start to get a little grumpy on the road, I hope the Holy Spirit reminds me of this song.

As I singer, I have started singing this is church. the response to the lyrics ahs been tremendous. We all come to a point in our lives where we think that what we do does not really matter. That we are not a really effective witness, or that we are not producing enough fruit for the harvest. But then a song or sermon comes along and gives us hope. IN this day, tha song is "Faces"

Soo many times, men of God reflect on their shortcomings and wonder if they were effective in their ministry. This song inspires us to move on, knowing the results of our faithfulness are not aleays seen today, but make for a sure reward tomorrow. Thanks for inspiring us all to press on.

I had heard bits and pieces of this song on the way to work and on the way home. The night that I heard the complete song I cried all the way home. I am a christian music singer and it has been a long time since I have been moved by a song in such a way. I can't wait to get a copy. I pray that GOd will use this song in lives all over the world.
