Two His Glory - Life Is Good With You, Lord
Label- Lamp Music Group
Producer- Mike Pillow
Website- http://www.twohisglory.com
Two His Glory is a wonderful couple from Shelbyville, TN. Steven and Cecilia Flippo make up the group and do a great job of singing Southern Gospel music.
“It’s A Good Day for a Singing” was written by Steven and he is also featured on this barn burner. The second verse was a little repetitive but it was about, one of my favorite things, quartet music so I won’t complain too much. “Church of the Lost and Found” is a Progressive Southern Gospel song written by Cecilia. This is a fun song with a good hook.
“Life Is Good with You, Lord” is a Country Gospel song that keeps the tempo up and has plenty of fiddles. Cecilia is featured on this one. She has a nice alto voice. Once again, there was a lot of repetition in the lyrics. “Trying to Catch Up to Yesterday” is the first ballad of the project and features Cecilia on the lead. This song is about our busy lives and reminds us to slow down and enjoy it.
If you were to do a survey about the top ten favorite Gospel songs of all time, “I’ll Fly Away” would no doubt show up on that list. Two His Glory has included a nice rendition of this great old song on the project. Cecilia has written another great Progressive Southern Gospel song that tells us that we have to get out of comfort zone and get down on our knees. The song, “Get Up and Get Down” is very commercial with a good hook. Radio would like this song.
“When Will I Change” is a nice ballad, written by Cecilia and featuring Steven. This song reminds me of some of the Country Music that came out in the early 1980s. They have included another great Albert E. Brumley song on this project, “Jesus Hold My Hand”. The track on this one sounds a little like something you would have heard on an old Country Music television show, with a shuffle beat and plenty of fiddle and mandolin work.
“His Name is Jesus” has a little taste of the islands, reminiscent of a Bellamy Brothers song. Cecilia sings the lead on this one and it’s one of my favorites on the project. “All God’s Children” closes the project out. This is a very pretty ballad that reminds us that we are blessed if we have a loving family. Not everyone has that blessing but Thank God, he loves us all the same.
Steven and Cecilia Flippo both have very good voices and write some very nice songs. This project moves along nicely and had a good variety. I liked their graphics on the project. They had fun with it.
